David Haken earned his MABTS and ThM degrees from Western Seminary, where he studied under Tim Mackie, founder of The Bible Project. From Tim, David developed a deep appreciation for the power of literary structure and visual tools in unlocking the message of Scripture—an approach that shapes his teaching today.
For the past five years, David has served as a missionary and biblical studies instructor at the International Graduate School of Leadership in the Philippines. There, he trains pastors and church leaders from across Asia to faithfully proclaim God’s Word and make disciples in their home countries.
David and his wife Liz have been married nine years and are raising three young children. Outside the classroom, David enjoys family adventures and pretending he’s good at pickleball.
